Skin cancer screening

Since 1.July 2008 people covered by statutory health insurance from the age of 35 can request a early prevention examination for skin cancer, the so called ‘skin cancer screening’. The skin cancer screening can be conducted by a qualified general practitioner or by a qualified dermatologist.

The skin cancer screening in Germany is world wide the first comprehensive organized standardised cancer early detection assessment of the skin.  It covers the examination of the complete skin, including the haired head and the visible mucosa. The health insurance card covers the statutory skin cancer screening in specially qualified doctors practices. No practice cover charge applies.

Just ask your doctor or your dermatologist!
